On this episode we are speaking with Alex Baumjohann, who was the youngest ever player to sign a professional contract with the Bundesliga side Schalke 04, he then went on to play 13 years in the Bundesliga for clubs such as Bayern Munich, Schalke, Borussia Monchengladbach and Hertha Berlin. Alex then had a quick stint in Brazil and finished his career in the A league at Sydney FC where he won the premiership.
We asked Alex what it was like playing with some of the best players in the world such as Ribery, Neuer, Robben, Schweinsteiger, Raul etc.., the mindset needed to play professional football in Europe, Advice to upcoming players and the up and down life of being a professional athlete.
